Translation Lab Founder & Director Laurence Bogoslaw holds a Ph.D. in
Slavic Languages and Literatures and a Masters in Italian Literature.
He has worked as a professional translator for 15 years and is certified by
the American Translators Association (Russian to English). Dr.
Bogoslaw is dedicated to professionalizing translation. He has been
President of the Upper Midwest Translators & Interpreters Association (UMTIA)
since it was incorporated in 2001. He founded and co-directs the
Interpreting Stakeholders Group, an offshoot of UMTIA focused on improving
quality and service delivery of community interpreting in Minnesota.
Dr. Bogoslaw has taught at the University of Minnesota, Macalester College,
and Gustavus Adolphus College. He has published and presented papers
on community translation and interpreting, pop-culture translation, and
poetry translation. |
